Sights & Sounds on Sundays
2010-2011 Call for Proposals
North Carolina Museum of Art

Once again, we are accepting proposals from North Carolina-based chamber ensembles to present concerts on our Sights & Sounds on Sundays concert series
co-sponsored with the NC Museum of Art.

  1. There are some changes in the guidelines so read carefully.

  2. All proposed programs must relate to either works in the permanent collection or in a special exhibition.

  3. There will also be an extensive new sculpture garden including works by Rodin and Plensa, a new Roxy Paine sculpture, Askew, and the as-yet-untitled Ursula von Rydingsvard piece. A catalogue of the sculptures as well as a handbook of the permanent collection will not be available until the grand opening in April 2010, but applicants are welcome to develop programs relating to these artists in addition to the traveling and permanent exhibitions.

  4. Some exhibitions in the attached document extend beyond the 2010-11 fiscal year. Please consider only those that open between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011. Consider others as a sneak preview of the 2011-12 season.
Following the extensive renovations and new construction, we are back in the museum's auditorium for the full 2010-11 season after visiting other sites in the community for most of the 2009-10 season. It will be an exciting time, with a potential for large numbers of visitors — a great way to introduce new audiences to the great chamber music ensembles in North Carolina!

Please pass this on to other North Carolina-based artists who may be interested.

We look forward to receiving your application. Due date is October 15.
